Blue Studios: Our Code of Conduct
Blue Studios strives to provide a fun, safe, and secure environment for all of our students.
To ensure that we operate at the highest quality and that students have a positive experience,
all students must adhere to the Blue Studios Code of Conduct.
We ask that all parents review the code of conduct with their student and submit the signed and completed forms below upon membership or camp enrollment.
Blue Studios Code of Conduct
Listen to and follow directions.
Students are to listen to and follow instructions given by Blue Studios staff in a prompt and respectful manner. Running away or ignoring staff instructions/supervision is not tolerated.
Do NOT leave the premises unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
(Parents should review drop off and pick up procedures with their student.)
Students must ALWAYS be with their designated group and instructor unless they have permission to be somewhere else. Students must always advise a Blue Studios staff member that they are using the restroom so that staff are aware of students’ whereabouts at all times.
Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
Students must keep hands, feet, head, and other body parts to themselves unless part of an activity led by Blue Studios staff. Avoid horseplay such as piggyback rides, picking each other up, wrestling, hitting, punching, kicking etc.
Respect everyone and everything!
Students must show respect to themselves, all students, staff, equipment, and property. No put-downs, insults, or teasing is allowed. Fighting, hitting, theft, destruction of property, etc. WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, and are grounds for immediate dismissal. Inappropriate, foul, disrespectful, or hurtful language directed toward any student or staff member will NOT be tolerated and is grounds for dismissal.
Keep a safe and clean environment.
Students must come dressed in appropriate clothing, as determined by Blue Studios, at all times. Wear comfortable clothes that permit one to move freely so students can participate in activities. Weapons and drugs are not permitted on premises.
Violation of the Code of Conduct Procedures
The following procedures will be implemented when students misbehave or break Blue Studios rules.
Blue Studios reserves the right to bypass one or more steps in the process if we deem, at our sole discretion, that the situation warrants it. No refunds will be provided in the case of removal for breaking the rules or violating the Blue Studios Code of Conduct.
When any violation occurs, the following steps will be taken.
Step 1: Verbal Warning
When a rule is broken for the first time in one day, the first consequence will be a verbal warning. Blue Studios staff and instructors will ensure that the student is aware of the rule he/she violated. This warning gives the student the chance to correct their behavior or mistakes on their own.
Step 2: Cool Down/Time-Out (Minutes)
When rules are broken for a second time in one day, the student will be separated from the
group and placed in a supervised cool down or time-out for approximately minute per year of age. Once again, the student will be made aware of the rule that was violated that led to the time-out. This time-out allows the student to reflect on their actions and pinpoint where they went astray. It also allows the student to take responsibility for his/her actions and correct their future behavior.
Step 3: Time-Out of Next Activity
When rules are broken for a third time in one day, the student will be separated from the group and placed in a supervised time-out of a full activity. Once again, the student will be made aware of the rule that was violated that led to the time-out. This extended time-out allows the student to reflect on their actions and pinpoint where they went astray. It also allows them to take responsibility for their actions and correct their future behavior.
The parent or guardian will be advised of the student’s behavior when he/she pickup up the student from class or camp.
Step 4: Letter Home
When rules are broken for a fourth time in one day, the parent/guardian will be notified in writing by email and/or by letter sent home. This report ensures that parent(s)/guardian(s) are made aware of their student’s behavior. The report will indicate which rule(s) the student broke. To gain re-entry into the camp or program, the letter must be signed by the parent/legal guardian and sent back to Blue Studios the following day.
After two letters, the student will be terminated from the camp or program and no refund will be awarded.
Violation of the Code of Conduct
Blue Studio staff reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to dismiss any student at any time whose behavior is deemed by our staff to be unacceptable, thereby bypassing any and all of the disciplinary steps outlined in the Blue Studios Code of Conduct Process and Procedures. This includes repeated violations of rules, the code of conduct and any student whose behavior endangers the safety of themselves or others, as determined by Blue Studios staff.
Immediate dismissal examples include, but are not limited to
